ART PROJECT

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Overview

JUT Group planned to relocate to a new office building as their new headquarters. The company's founder is a renowned art collector in the Taiwan art scene and has a deep passion for contemporary art. He envisioned customizing the public spaces of the new building with artistic installations. To achieve this, JUT Group invited two prominent art teams, teamLab from Japan and Random International from the UK, to create digital media installations in the main lobby and executive office floor entrance, respectively. Additionally, British artist Julian Opie was invited to install artwork on the exterior pedestrian pathway. On the underground first floor, welcoming VIP visitors, the works of Chinese artist Xu Bing were exhibited. Notably, JUT Hall was collaboratively designed by Dutch architecture firm MVRDV and Argentine artist Alexandra Kehayoglou, featuring a textile-covered space. Alongside these well-known projects, various artists from around the world were also commissioned to contribute their paintings, sculptures, and other media to other office spaces. Therefore, the entire headquarters' public art plan encompasses these diverse projects.

Collaborative Artists: teamLab (Japan), Random International (UK), Julian Opie (UK), Xu Bing (China), Alexandra Kehayoglou (Argentina) and more.

My Role

JUT Group is a renowned construction company in Taiwan that includes an interior design division. As part of this project, my role involved bridging the concepts and construction plans of the featured artists with the company's architectural design team, construction team, and interior design team. These teams prepared the site up to a certain stage before the artists' arrival in Taiwan, where they would execute their exclusive works and we would oversee the final touches.

Due to most of the artists being based abroad, my responsibilities included extensive remote communication to ensure that the artists' visions and ideas were effectively translated and executed by our team on-site, resolving any implementation issues that arose in their absence.

Simultaneously, I facilitated interdepartmental communication within our internal team, ensuring cooperation and coordination between departments to progress with the construction before the artists' arrival. Additionally, I assisted the artists during their time in Taiwan, arranging accommodation, transportation, workspace, required equipment, and any necessary support, ensuring they could complete the work within their schedule.
